The Weight of Words [B1]
本篇语法点:the+比较级,the+比较级,情态动词should/ought to提建议
Words have a weight that few understand. They can heal or hurt, comfort or confuse. My father used to say, 'the words you speak today will shape the future.' I never understood it until I became a parent. Now, I see how every sentence we say to our children leaves a mark. When I should have been patient, I spoke with anger. When I ought to have listened, I ignored their fears. The past cannot be changed, but the future is still ours to build. We must choose our words carefully, for they carry more than meaning—they carry love, regret, and hope. Even in silence, words are spoken through actions. What we say, or what we fail to say, shapes who we are and who our children will become.
